Blocked Ducts & Mastitis
Mastitis and blocked ducts can go from uncomfortable to debilitating very quickly and can seriously disrupt your breastfeeding journey.
Therapeutic ultrasound is a fast, evidence-based treatment that clears blockages and reduces inflammation, and it's completely safe while breastfeeding. Most women feel significant relief after a single session, however the evidence suggests 3 sessions over 3 consecutive days for optimal outcomes.
A hard, tender lump in the breast
Redness, swelling, or warmth in the breast
Pain during or after feeding
Flu-like symptoms alongside breast pain
Recurring blocked ducts that aren't clearing on their own
Does this sound familiar?
Therapeutic ultrasound is a gentle, non-invasive treatment used to help reduce inflammation, pain and swelling associated with blocked ducts and mastitis.
The handheld device, see in this image, is applied to the affected breast with gel to allow sound waves to penetrate the skin.
The ultrasound delivers high-frequency sound waves (typically 1–3 MHz) to generate deep heat and micro-vibrations in soft tissue. These micro-vibrations help improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, encourage lymphatic flow and support milk movement through narrowed ducts.
